Back in 1999, nothing could have prepared you for the sheer foul-mouthed depravity of South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. 25 years later, the infamous film is back and looking better than ever, as a new anniversary edition updates the movie for modern displays with a 4K remaster, and it’s being joined by another controversial creation of Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Team America: World Police. Both films will be available from June 25, and preorders are live now.

Sure, South Park’s crude-on-purpose animation might not need an ultra high-definition upgrade, but this version shows off just how much detail was packed into frame of that film. If you haven’t seen it, the South Park movie took the ideas and themes of its groundbreaking animated TV series and dialed it up to 11 with a seemingly endless stream of profanity, violence, and Satan being manipulated by Saddam Hussain to start World War 3 after the blood of Canadian comedians had been spilled. Yeah, the South Park movie is absurd.

Walmart is offering the lowest price at $20. Target has the film priced at $24.50, and Amazon is taking orders for $26. It’s worth noting that Amazon only charges you once the Blu-ray is in stock and about to ship, and you’ll get the lowest price offered from the moment you preorder to when your order ships.

South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut’s record as the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time wouldn’t be beaten until 2016–thanks, Sausage Party–and the movie still holds up pretty well thanks to its heartfelt story, absurd humor, and admittedly great musical numbers. The anniversary edition comes with a 4K Blu-ray disc, standard Blu-ray, and a digital copy. You’ll also get the following extras:

  • Preorder at Walmart — $20
  • Preorder at Target — $24.50
  • Preorder at Amazon — $26

Next up is Team America: World Police. An action-packed romp that arrived in the wake of 9/11 and amidst ongoing wars in the Middle East, Team America applied Parker and Stone’s signature style of comedy to marionette puppets and the world was never the same again. Possibly the only puppet movie to feature this level of over-the-top violence, the film was notable for lampooning US politics, activist celebrities, and North Korea when it came out in 2004.

Imagine Mission: Impossible with puppets and ridiculous levels of jingoism, and you’ll know exactly what you’re in for. It’s also a terrific parody of Hollywood’s formulaic action blockbusters, and includes some banger tracks in its soundtrack.

For the extras, there’s quite a bit here to check out, most of which have been inherited from previous DVD and Blu-ray releases of Team America. They’re fascinating to watch if you want to see just how much effort Stone, Parker, and the rest of the production crew put into making this movie before swearing to never use puppets again.
