MI New York had earlier set a formidable 237/4, largely thanks to a blistering, unbeaten 108 from captain Nicholas Pooran, who struck 7 fours and 8 sixes in his 60-ball innings. Tajinder Dhillon provided valuable support, smashing 95 off just 35 deliveries.

Despite the onslaught, the Orcas bowlers, Gerald Coetzee and Kyle Mayers, managed to grab two wickets each, slowing down the scoring rate somewhat.

Seattle's chase got off to a shaky start, losing both Josh Brown and Shayan Jahangir early in the powerplay. However, Kyle Mayers (37 off 20) and captain Sikandar Raza (30 off 9) launched a swift counter-attack, briefly bringing the chase back on track. Heinrich Klaasen then added a quickfire 26 off 13 balls before falling to Rushil Ugarkar.

The stage was then set for Hetmyer's magnificent innings. With the required run rate escalating and wickets falling, Hetmyer shifted gears, smashing an unbeaten 97 off just 40 balls. His innings included 5 fours and 9 towering sixes, resulting in an incredible strike rate of 242.50.

The game went down to the wire, with five runs needed off the final ball. Hetmyer faced Kieron Pollard and calmly flicked the ball over fine leg for a six, securing a memorable victory for the Seattle Orcas.

"This one is one of the best, because our backs were against the wall," said Hetmyer, who was named Player of the Match. "Today is one of those days, where I went with a clear mind and wanted to take the game as deep as possible."
