The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis and Ganga Hospital celebrated a major milestone with the completion of their 100th joint medical camp. The camps, which began in June 2022, have provided free breast cancer detection and diabetic foot care.
Project Shakti, the breast cancer detection initiative, has screened over 5,097 women and identified and treated 64 breast cancer patients free of cost. The project utilises a sophisticated mammobus, equipped with the latest equipment, valued at ₹2.25 crore.
Project Walk for Life, the diabetic foot care initiative, has screened 1,942 diabetic patients and conducted 108 surgeries to prevent further complications.
The Rotary Club contributed ₹1.4 crore, while Ganga Hospital contributed an equal amount. Project Walk for Life involves a total project cost of ₹1.5 crore, with the Rotary Club and Ganga Hospital contributing ₹88 lakhs and ₹62 lakhs, respectively.
