Mukkoodal police are on the lookout for three persons who attacked the house of anti-naxal police at Vadakku Ariyanayagipuram in the district on Sunday night.
Police said the three unidentified persons, who trespassed into the compound around the house of anti-naxal wing head-constable R. Selva Kumaresan, damaged his car with machete and smashed the glass windows of the house.
The family members informed Mr. Selva Kumaresan about the attack as he had gone to Madurai and he alerted the Mukkoodal police, who collected the CCTV camera footage from the house. During investigation, the police identified the attackers as Muppidathi, 28, of Sanganthiradu near Cheranmahadevi, his friend Muthukumar, 27, of the same area and another yet-to-be identified person.
When Mr. Selva Kumaresan was working in the nearby Suththamalli police station limits in the district, he warned Muppidathi as he was creating a ruckus near Vadakku Ariyanayagipuram three months ago under the influence of alcohol. Hence, he and his friends attacked the house of the police head constable.
Efforts are on to secure the three men.
