The CPI (ML) Mass Line (Praja Pandha) Telangana State committee has urged the civil society to condemn what it termed as ‘unabated encounters’ in the name of ‘Operation Kagar’ by the security forces in neighbouring Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division.
In a statement, party State secretary Potu Ranga Rao alleged that the Centre launched an all-out offensive against Maoist movement by deploying thousands of personnel of the para-military forces in a joint onslaught on abujhmad forest region in Chhattisgarh.
Referring to the reported death of 31 Maoists and two jawans in an alleged encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Sunday, he accused the persons at the helm in the Centre of trying to project the Naxal movement as an internal security threat. “They are not viewing it as a people’s struggle against oppression and exploitation of tribal people by fascist and corporate forces from socio economic perspective,” he alleged.
“The massacre should be stopped forthwith and the issue be viewed as a social problem,” he added.
