Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said his party is on course to win 55 of the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi. However, he said, with the help of the women voters, the party could get over 60 seats.

“As per my estimate, AAP is winning 55 seats, but with a little push from women — who must also persuade men in their families to vote for AAP — we could get well over 60 seats,” Mr. Kejriwal said in a post on X.

The AAP chief held rallies in several parts of the city throughout the day, including one in Kalkaji with Chief Minister Atishi, who is seeking re-election from the constituency against former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri and Alka Lamba of the Congress.

The former Delhi Chief Minister, who has been trying to woo the female electorate through various poll promises, added, “I want to appeal to all the mothers and sisters of Delhi to tell their husbands, sons, fathers, and brothers that there is nothing for them in the BJP.”

He added, “The BJP is a party of the rich. We will build good schools for our children, provide free electricity, arrange for free medical treatment, and offer free bus rides for women. It will be AAP that will take care of you.” He reiterated the promise to transfer ₹2,100 to the accounts of women through the Mahila Samman Yojana if AAP returns to power.

Mr. Kejriwal also doubled down on the message that if the BJP is elected to power, it will stop all the existing welfare schemes, which will increase the monthly household expenses by ₹25,000.

“We will make bus service free for students. There will also be a concession pass for the students taking the metro. We have also conceptualised a scheme under which we will provide free electricity and water to the tenants in Delhi. I have also come up with a plan to give employment to the youth,” he also said.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann also led a series of roadshows and public meetings across Delhi, rallying support for AAP candidates fighting from Shalimar Bagh, Shakur Basti, Wazirpur, and Adarsh Nagar. Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia led a bike rally in Jangpura, urging residents to vote for AAP “to secure quality education for your children”.
