Vision screening initiative for children in juvenile homes launched

Indian Vision Institute (IVI) on Tuesday launched a vision screening initiative for children in juvenile homes across Tamil Nadu. Supported by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of Aspire Systems, the initiative will benefit over 2,000 children across 30 juvenile homes in the State. It offers free eye screenings, corrective spectacles and referrals for further treatment when required. Santosh Kumar, Inspector-General and Joint Director, Tamil Nadu Police, inaugurated the campaign. IVI works to eliminate preventable vision impairment and promote better eye health across India. IVI’s chief executive officer Vinod Daniel and general manager of CSR, Aspire Systems, Sathappan, were present, a release said.
