‘Update changes in Aadhaar cards of children’

Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore has exhorted the parents of children below the age of 15 to renew their wards’ Aadhaar cards.

In a statement, he said a ‘Blue Aadhaar Card’ was being given to children below the age of five, and it should be updated twice – at the age of 5 and 15 – as the children’s face, fingerprint, pupil and other bio-metric details would change as they grow. The free updation of the Aadhaar card can be done in government and the government-aided schools.

Those who failed to avail the service may approach the Aadhar registration centres. Since the ‘myAadhar App’ can be used only for updating any change in address, the parents should update other changes in the authorised Aadhaar registration centres.

“Most of us might not have updated the Aadhaar details such as residential address, mobile number, email address, other bio-metric details etc., which should be modified for every 10 years,” said the Collector.
