TVVP contract workers announce gherao on February 19 over unpaid salaries

The Telangana Medical Contract Employees and Workers Union (TMCEWU), affiliated with the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), met with TVVP Commissioner J. Ajaya Kumar on Monday and submitted a notice demanding the immediate release of pending salaries. “If the dues are not cleared by February 18, all 4,000 contract employees working under TVVP across the State will stage a gherao outside the TVVP office in Hyderabad,” said TMCEWU State General Secretary M. Narsimha.

The employees have been on a protest for seven days over non-payment of salaries for several months.
