A nine-year-old male tiger named ‘Nagulan’, housed in the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, recently successfully underwent a surgery for the removal of a tumour from the right side of its neck. An official release said the procedure was performed under gas anaesthesia, with the tumour mass being carefully excised. To prevent excessive bleeding, the blood vessels feeding the tumour were sealed using a vessel sealer. Nagulan was closely monitored throughout its recovery. The tiger was found to be brisk and agile on the very next day, with regular feed intake The surgery site is healing well, and the tiger is doing well, the release said.
