Bahuvachana and Tamaasha Studio Foundation are inviting applications for its Play Translation Fellowship aimed at translators passionate about theatre and translation. The fellowship offers an opportunity to translate Marathi plays into Kannada
Three translators will be selected for this fellowship, with the possibility of a shared project between two individuals. The selected fellows will participate in a 15-day residency near Bengaluru, with travel, food, and accommodation expenses covered. Fellows will also receive a grant of ₹30,000 upon submission of the final manuscript. During the residency, fellows are expected to complete a rough draft, with an additional three weeks allocated for finalizing the translation, said a release.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in both Marathi and Kannada, and submit a brief introduction, their translation experience, and two sample translations, one of which must be a play. Final submissions should be error-free and typed in Nudi Parijata.
