Traffic diversion in city in connection with Teppam festival on Tuesday

Madurai city police have planned traffic diversion in the city in view of Teppam festival at Teppakulam on Tuesday.

Vehicles bound to Viraghanoor junction would not be allowed through Vaigai North Bank Road and PTR Bridge. Those vehicles should go through Anna Nagar, Kuruvikkaran Salai and Vaigai South Bank Road to reach Viraghanoor.

Only those vehicles of devotees going to witness Teppam festival should be parked on Vaigai North Bank Road and walk towards Teppakulam via PTR Bridge, a statement said.

Vehicles bound to Viraghanoor junction from Aavin Junction and Kuruvikkaran Salai should also take Vaigai South Bank Road.

No vehicle entering the city from Viraghanoor would be allowed through Teppakulam. They should take the Vaigai South Bank Road.

Devotees coming from Viraghanoor junction can park their vehicles on Vaigai South Bank Road and Old Ramanathapuram Road.

Vehicles bound to Viraghanoor from Periyar bus stand should also take the Vaigai South Bank Road from Kamaraj Salai.

Devotees coming from Kamaraj Salai can park their vehicles on Kamaraj Salai.

The police have banned movement of vehicles coming to the city from Anuppanadi via Teppakulam. Vehicles proceeding to Anuappanadi should go through Munichalai junction, New Ramanathapuram Road and Gatelock Road to reach Anuppanadi.

Devotees from Anuppanadi can park their vehicles at Teachers’ Colony.
