Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud has accused the BRS of indirectly supporting the BJP in the ensuing Telangana Legislative Council Elections like it did in the last Lok Sabha elections.

The BRS entered into a secret pact with the BJP to defeat the Congress in the MLC elections as it did not find candidates to field in the elections, he charged.

Mr. Goud was speaking after participating in the nomination rally of the party candidate V. Narender Reddy for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency in Karimnagar on Monday (February 10).

Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Seethakka, Konda Surekha and Jupally Krishna Rao among others took part in the nomination rally.

Training his guns at the BJP, he alleged that the saffron party leaders were infamous for deriving political mileage by pursuing divisive politics.

He said, “The BJP MPs from Telangana have miserably failed to get the State’s due share in the Union Budget. They brought a ‘Gadida Guddu’ (Donkey’s egg), a ‘Big Zero’.”

Take the BJP leaders to task when they come to seek votes, he said.

The TPCC president asserted that the Congress government provided more than 55,000 jobs in the very first year after coming to power. The State witnessed record investments and the landmark caste census among other groundbreaking initiatives under Indiramma Rajyam, he added.

He called upon party cadres to relentlessly strive to ensure thumping victory of the party candidate in the February 27 MLC elections.

Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said more than 55,000 posts were filled up in the first year rule of the Congress government. Plans are afoot to provide around 2 lakh jobs in the next one year and complete pending irrigation projects in north Telangana expeditiously.

Mr. Sridhar Babu called upon the graduates to ensure landslide victory for Mr. Narender Reddy to give a fillip to the Congress’s endeavour to employment generation, skill development and ‘Yuva Vikasam’ (Youth empowerment).

Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar lashed out at the BJP accusing it of contesting every election with a communal agenda.

“Teach the BJP a fitting lesson for its divisive politics and elect the Congress candidate in the MLC elections,” he said while addressing the rally.

Ms Seethakka, Ms Surekha and Mr Krishna Rao among others spoke.
