A group of persons, which had cleared the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET), staged a protest in front of the District Collectorate on Tuesday.
The protesters said the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) had released the provisional selection list and they were selected for the posts of Graduate Teachers and Block Resource Teacher Educators (GT/BRTE) seven months ago. But they have not been given postings through counselling yet.
“Most of the candidates who have qualified for this exam are over 45 years of age. Our livelihood has been affected because of lack of income as we had resigned our jobs to prepare for the test. So, we urge the officials concerned to conduct the counselling as soon as possible and give us postings,” said M. Nagoor, a protester.
