All India Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Thoothukudi has welcomed the union budget 2025-2026, highlighting several key announcements beneficial to various sectors.
The chamber appreciated the increase in the loan amount for farmers that has been hiked under the kisan credit card from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh. It also welcomed the announcement of a regional airport development programme, UDAN which is expected to benefit millions of passengers over the next 10 years. Additionally the chamber praised the new start-up initiative aimed at encouraging the first time women entrepreneurs. Another significant move appreciated by the chamber is the inclusion of health insurance scheme for gig workers under the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana health insurance scheme.
S. Sankar Marimuthu, president, All India Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Thoothukudi, expressed happiness for the upper limit for income tax exemption, which has been raised to ₹12 lakh. He also appreciated the allocation of ₹10,000 crore for the scheme to provide financial assistance to start up companies
