The Hindu FIC quiz sees enthusiastic turnout

Over 450 participants turned up at The Hindu Future India Club (FIC) and Institute of Public Enterprise quiz for undergraduate students, held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here on Tuesday.

Md. Safiuddin and SMM Ali from PRR Law College bagged the first prize while Osmania Medical College’s Syed Mohammad Hashmi and Syed Abdul Mannan finished second in the contest.

Similar quiz contests were earlier held in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar. Tuesday’s quiz was the fourth event. Students came from 54 colleges and the quiz was conducted in two rounds. The preliminary round saw 225 teams, each team comprising two participants. The final on-stage round had six teams.

Professor of Business Analytics at IPE, K.V. Anantha Kumar, who addressed the participants, said the institute is keen on organising more such events to encourage students.

Chief Postmaster General (Telangana) P.V.S. Reddy, who presented the awards to the winners, congratulated the teams for their active participation and a display of healthy competition.

Professors at IPE, Rajesh and Chandrasekhar also joined General Manager at The Hindu S.D.T. Rao and gave away the awards.

Other winners at the event included Sri Harshita Voleti and Sai Keerthi of CMR College of Engineering; Mohammad Abul Maid Adnan and Shah Mohammad Abaid Ur Rahman of Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences; B. Bhargavi and A.Bhumika of RBVRR Women’s College; and Alok Ranjan Yadav and Mohammed Nawazuddin of Omega Degree College.
