Temple property worth ₹10 cr. retrieved

The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department on Tuesday retrieved property worth about ₹10 crore belonging to the Sri Agatheeswarar temple in Villivakkam. The property, located in Sivasakthi Colony off MTH Road, had been rented out to an electro-plating industry unit, a release said. Since the unit did not pay rent and had accumulated arrears, it was evicted.

HR&CE officials took possession of the property in the presence of officials from the police and revenue departments.
