Security guard found murdered – The Hindu

A 65-year-old security guard at a concrete mixing company in Arachalur was murdered on Monday.

Palanisamy of Anjurampalayam was working at the company for the past two years, where 15 migrant workers reside and work on the premises. While on duty on Sunday night, he heard noises from the workers’ accommodation area. Upon checking, he found a worker in an inebriated state arguing. Palanisamy intervened, advised him to remain calm, and returned to his security post.

The next morning, two workers found Palanisamy dead, with his face severely disfigured and his body bearing multiple injuries. Arachalur police recovered the body and sent it to the Government Hospital for a postmortem.

Investigations revealed that the worker who caused the disturbance the previous night was missing. Police suspect he might be responsible for the murder, and a special team has been formed to track him down. Inquiry is on with other workers.
