Scouts and Guides training centre can host all kinds of programmes

Karnataka State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides P.G.R. Sindhia on Wednesday said the expansive training centre of Dakshina Kannada Scouts and Guides may be utilised by government agencies for training purposes and other programmes.

Speaking after the inauguration of the assembly hall of the centre at Pilikula here, Mr. Sindhia said youth empowerment related activities, NCC training programmes, training for government personnel etc., could be conducted at the centre. It was not just meant for Scouts and Guides organisation, he said.

Umanath Kotian, Moodbidri MLA, said the centre could also be utilised to arrange private functions, including weddings, at reasonable charges. Abundant accommodation and vehicle parking facilities, restrooms, kitchen, dining hall etc., were available at the centre.

A statement from the Dakshina Kannada Scouts and Guides Association said the centre has a 2,500-capacity main hall, two mini halls accommodating 500 individuals each, and an existing building with a seating capacity of 250. Additionally, the facility includes 100 washrooms, a well-equipped kitchen capable of serving 3,000 people, an amphitheatre, and parking space for 500 cars. All kinds of functions and programmes could be hosted in the hall.
