To promote environmental conservation, Treechy Lovers, in collaboration with Maram Valarpoma, an eco-friendly group, organised a tree plantation drive along the bund of Kiliyur Lake near Koothappar, Tiruchi.
The lake, spread over 900 acres, is currently full, attracting a large flock of migratory birds.
As part of the initiative, nearly 100 saplings of various tree species, including badam, pungai, neem, kadukai and malaivembu, were planted along the lake bund. With an abundance of water, the saplings are expected to thrive.
C. Balasubramanian, convenor, Treechy Lovers, along with members and volunteers of the group, participated in the green initiative to foster the noble cause of environmental conservation and sustainability in the region.
