Over 5,000 students get insights into higher education opportunities at seminar

Over 5,000 students from more than 50 schools participated in a seminar on higher education opportunities held by the Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Noted educationists and career guidance specialists led the ‘Sigarathai Nokki’ seminar.

In his key-note address, M. Dhanasekaran, Chancellor of Takshashila University and CMD, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust, advised the students to consider key factors while selecting colleges for higher education, such as NIRF, NAAC and NBA accreditation. Organisational accreditation, institutional approval, academic standards, percentage of employment, and infrastructure were other parameters to be assessed in choosing an institution, he said.

V. Nandakumar, Commissioner of Income Tax, Jayaprakash A. Gandhi, career consultant and analyst, and I. Jagan, founder of ‘Win Your Weakness’ addressed the students.

Narayanasamy Kesavan, Trust Secretary, D. Rajarajan, treasurer, S. Velayutham, joint secretary, V.S.K. Venkatachalapathy, College Director, S. Malarkan, Principal of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology and S. Senthil, Director of Mailam Educational Trust also spoke.
