Outsourced staff working at Telangana BC Commission held for taking bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday (February 7) arrested an outsourced employee working for the Telangana Commission for Backward Classes in Hyderabad’s Khairatabad for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.

The accused, identified as Golla Srinivas, was caught while he was accepting the amount, said to be the “first instalment”. The bribe was demanded in exchange for processing an official file relating to the complainant’s caste.

The chemically marked currency notes were recovered from the accused official, and he was produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally. Further investigation in the case is under way.

The ACB requested citizens to report demands for bribes by government officials through the toll-free number 1064.
