Nine persons who had food at an eatery in Sholavandan on Tuesday night suffered diarrhoea and seven among them were admitted to the Government Hospital there.
They had consumed grilled chicken along with other dishes at the hotel. After they suffered diarrhoea, seven of them were admitted to Sholavandan GH. After treatment, five among them were discharged in the afternoon, said an official.
Officials from the Food Safety Department, following complaint from the district administration, inspected the eatery and collected food samples for testing.
As the eatery followed unhygienic food practice and used single use plastics, ₹4,000 was imposed as fine. Only after they receive the results of the food sample test will further actions be initiated, the official said.
