Middle class’s dream budget: Kishan Reddy

HYDERABAD

Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy hailed the Union Budget of 2025-26 as a dream budget for the middle class. “It is a visionary budget that empowers the poor, farmers, women, and youth, and aims to lay a strong foundation for Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Mr. Reddy criticised those who alleged that the budget did not allocate special funds for Telangana. “The State will significantly benefit from the budget,” he said.

“Personal income tax reforms, which exempt up to ₹12 lakh annual income from tax, will fulfil the dreams of the middle class. The budget introduces major economic reforms to enhance ‘Ease of Doing Business’, expand access to funds for MSMEs, startups, and entrepreneurs, and foster a strong investment environment,” Mr. Reddy said.

He added that the budget strengthens Centre-State cooperation to drive inclusive growth and reinforces the NDA government’s commitment towards Viksit Bharat by achieving Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), sustained growth, and global competitiveness.

Mr. Reddy also said that the ‘Heal in India’ initiative, aimed at promoting medical tourism in partnership with private sector, will turn Hyderabad into a major medical tourist destination. Additionally, startups from Telangana will receive funding under Fund of Funds Scheme (FFS).

The Union Minister congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a visionary budget that empowers various sections of the society.
