A 37-year-old man set himself on fire on Sunday night, outside his wife’s workplace, in Secunderabad’s Patny area, following an alleged dispute.
According to police, he sustained over 90 per cent burns and is currently receiving treatment in Gandhi Hospital.
The man, identified as Thotakura Shravan Kumar, lived in Kavadiguda with his wife and their daughter. On Sunday night, he went to a well-known clothing store in Patny, where his wife is employed, and confronted her on an issue. Police revealed that he had three bottles of petrol in his bag.
During the argument, Shravan took out one of the bottles and set himself on fire near the store’s entrance. Bystanders quickly intervened, alerting the police, who then rushed him to Gandhi Hospital. Authorities stated that his condition remains critical.
