The Adugodi police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly threatening a shopkeeper with a dagger to get a cigarette pack and matchbox from him on Koramangala 80 Feet Road recently.
A CCTV camera had caught the entire event and the clip went viral on social media prompting the police to track down the accused.
The video showed the accused Goutham Nagraj arguing with the shopkeeper and pulling out a dagger and threatening him, before walking away with the cigarette pack and the matchbox.
The shopkeeper told the police that the accused had even demanded money .
Based on a statement, the police arrested the accused under Section 25 (act not intended and not known to be likely to cause death or grievous hurt) of the BNS and also under various sections of the Arms Act and he was remanded in judicial custody.
