A 19-year-old man was arrested from Odisha’s Balasore for stealing over ₹1 crore in cash and jewellery worth ₹90 lakh from a house in Greater Kailash here, an officer said on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Kumar Malik, alias Vicky.
DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said on October 14, the police received a complaint about missing cash and jewellery from the homeowner in Greater Kailash II.
Vicky and three others were caught on CCTV camera running out of the house, the officer said.
“Vicky was part of a gang that used to come to Delhi and work as domestic helps. Once they were hired, the gang would burgle the house. He confessed to stealing the valuables and hiding it in Sanjay Van,” the officer added.
Stolen jewellery had been recovered and further investigation is under way, the DCP added.
