The Special Court for trial of cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act here has awarded 15-year imprisonment to a person who misbehaved with a girl in 2018.
The Kanniyakumari All Women Police had arrested L. Elthuse, 55, of Simon Colony area near Colachel under the POCSO Act for sexually harassing a nine-year-old girl.
Special Court Judge Sundaraiah sentenced Elldhose to undergo 15-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹6,000 on him on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police R. Stalin lauded the investigation officer of the case, D. Santhakumari, and head constable P. Venkadeshwari for securing conviction for the arrested person.
