Man from Bengaluru in coma after falling from train near Wimco Nagar Station

A 35-year-old resident of Bengaluru is in a coma after falling from an express train near the Wimco Nagar railway station on Saturday. The Korukkupet Government Railway police GRP have filed a case and are investigating.

A senior GRP official said R. Mohankumar and his friends had gone to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh. He had boarded the Humsafar Express train at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Friday to return to Srinagar in Bengaluru.

When the train reached Chennai on Saturday, Mohankumar opened the coach door. But he lost his footing and fell from the train, suffering serious injuries to the head and body. The train was stopped immediately, and Mohankumar was rushed to the Government Stanley Hospital. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and was in a coma, the police official added.
