The Yelahanka New Town police have booked a man for threatening a married woman and stalking her after she rejected his proposal for marriage.
The victim runs a shop and the accused identified as Usman Pasha came to the shop a few days ago as a customer. After buying some stuff the accused accessed her mobile number on the pretext of online payment and started messaging her and proposing marriage. The victim spurned him saying she was already married and asked him not to harass her, following which the accused threatened to kill her husband and mother.
When the harassment became unbearable, the victim persuaded her husband to move to a different locality and stay with her grandmother. However, the accused followed her there and continued to harass her. He even made a grafiti on the walls of the house with the victim’s name.
Following this, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case of criminal intimidation and harassment, against the accused.
