The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (Kufos), in association with the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), hosted an ocean science workshop on Thursday (January 30).
T.M. Balakrishnan Nair, Director, INCOIS, inaugurated the workshop. Kufos Registrar K. Dinesh and Director of Research S. Suresh Kumar spoke.
Talks on operational oceanography, internal tides in the Bay of Bengal, climate change impacts, autonomous coastal observatories, advances in satellite remote sensing, coral reef ecosystem health, and marine biodiversity conservation were held as part of the workshop.

Muraleedharan, Principal Scientist, National Institute of Oceanography, Anu Gopinath, Head of theDepartment of Aquatic Environment Management, Kufos, and Lathika Cicily, Assistant Professor, Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry, Cusat, spoke.
