In connection with the KLEF bribery case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested six people, including Gayatri Devaraj, professor of Davangere University and member of NAAC inspection committee. The CBI has registered a case against 14 people, including M. Hanumanthappa, from the Department of Computer Science, Bangalore University.

“Koneru Satyanarayana of KLEF and G.P. Saradhi Varma had delivered a bribe of ₹10 lakh to Mr. Hanumanthappa and L.
