The cancer awareness run being flagged off at Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School on Sunday.

‘K10K’, a run for cancer awareness organised by Kauvery Hospital, was held at Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School in Besant Nagar on Sunday. While M.P. Amith, Regional Deputy Commissioner (South), Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), flagged off the 10-km run, P. Vijaya Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, flagged off the 5-km run. Around 6,500 people participated in the run held ahead of World Cancer Day.
“Our aim is to spread awareness on cancer prevention and early detection. We hope this event motivates more people to integrate fitness into their daily lives, which is crucial for overall health,” said Aravindan Selvaraj, executive director, Kauvery Hospital. A.N. Vaidhyswaran, director of radiation oncology at the hospital, highlighted the need for regular check-ups and the importance of early detection leading to better cure.
