A high-level meeting will be called shortly by Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh to resolve the problem caused by street dogs on the Vidhana Soudha premises, said Speaker U.T. Khader in Mangaluru on Monday.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Khader said there are a good number of dogs on the Vidhana Soudha premises. There were complaints by legislators of the problems caused by dogs when they were on morning walk. There were also instances of dogs damaging the carpet laid for ceremonial events.
“These dogs have been on the premises for a long time. We need to find amicable solution to the problem,” he said. Representatives of Prani Daya Sangha and animal rights activists will be called for the meeting, Mr. Khader said.
The Budget session of the Karnataka legislature is likely to commence from March 3. The State Budget is likely to be presented on March 7, Mr. Khader said.
