ISRO chairman honoured in native village

Kanniyakumari Collector R. Alagumeena has announced that a video on the journey and achievements of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman V. Narayanan will be played across schools and colleges in the district to create motivation and inspiration among the students.

She made this statement at the commendation ceremony of newly-appointed ISRO chairman V. Narayanan. The event was organised at Melakattuvilai village near Nagercoil, where Mr. Narayanan is from. A large number of people from nearby villages thronged the venue to congratulate the ISRO chairman.

Ms. Alagumeena also congratulated the ISRO chairman for his successful launch of GSLV-F15, which is 100th rocket from India and the first one after Mr. Narayanan has taken charge. She noted that the journey of Mr. Narayanan is an example for students to dream high and achieve high.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Narayanan urged the students to focus on their studies and to have a higher level of goal in life. He highlighted that the ISRO’s success is the result of the collective efforts of a dedicated team and leading such an esteemed organisation is an honour.

Superintendent of Police R. Stalin, MLAs Mano Thangaraj and Rajesh Kumar, former MP Pon Radhakrishnan, Nagercoil Mayor R. Mahesh among others were present.
