Inter-state house burglar involved in over 150 cases arrested

A handbag carried by a suspect near the scene of crime helped the Madivala police to track down a 37-year-old inter-state burglar involved in over 150 cases across the country.

Following a house burglary reported in Maruthi Nagar in Madivala on January 9, a team led by Inspector Mohammed M.A., analysed footage from over 250 CCTV cameras and noticed two suspects carrying a handbag which they had taken from the house which they had burgled. The owner of the house identified the bag.

Following the trail, the police zeroed in on the accused near Madivala market while his associate managed to flee. The accused had even purchased a new pair of clothes and changed on footpath to avoid being detected, but the handbag they carried helped the police track down the accused.
