Guru Shiksha 2025, organised by the Guru Nanak Educational Society, is set to take place on February 14 and 15 at the Guru Nanak College and Guru Nanak School in Velachery. This annual event is a celebration of Sikh philosophy, focusing on the theme ‘Sangat-Pangat: Celebrating Oneness.’
Students from across the State are invited to participate in oratorical, essay writing, and quiz competitions, with categories for students in Classes 1 to 8, Classes 9 to 12, and for those in college. The competitions will be held in three languages: Tamil, Hindi, and English.
Guru Shiksha aims to instil the younger generation with the spiritual essence of Sikhism, fostering awareness, value building, and cultural exchange between the Sikh and Tamil communities. The competitions provide a platform for students to reflect on the relevance of Sikh teachings in contemporary society, internalising the principles of oneness and unity.
The winners will be awarded cash prizes, trophies, and certificates. There is no registration fee, and the competitions are open to the entire student community across Tamil Nadu. While the prelims are conducted on the school and college premises, the final round will be held in the Baba Deep Singh Auditorium at the Guru Nanak College.
Online and spot registrations are available, and schools and colleges are encouraged to participate. The Hindu is the media partner for the event.
