Four women from Telangana have been reported to be missing while attending the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The missing women, all above 55 years of age, were reportedly part of a 11-member group that had travelled to the religious gathering.
The missing women have been identified as Anugula Buchavva, a 65-year-old resident of Kalleda village in Kaddam Mandal, Nirmal District; Bellapu Sathavva, aged 55, from Bellal village in the same mandal; Veerla Narsavva, also 55, from Vidyanagar Colony in Jagtial District; and Adhi Rajavva, 55, from Kothawada Colony, Jagtial District.
According to police, the group reached the Kumbh Mela on January 29. However, amidst the vast crowds, the four women got separated and have not been found since. Family members reached out to the police trying to find their whereabouts.
Jagtial district SP Ashok Kumar has assured that local police were coordinating with Uttar Pradesh police to locate them. “Efforts are currently under way to trace the missing women,” he said.
