Five-day workshop on applications of radioisotopes begins at Rajahmundry Government College

A five-day national workshop on ‘Radiochemistry and applications of radioisotopes’ commenced on Monday at Rajahmundry Government Degree College.

The college is organising the workshop in collaboration with Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and Allied Scientists (IANCAS) and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC-Mumbai). Scientists and experts in nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, nuclear reactors, radioisotope production and application will deliver their lectures on the respective subjects.

P.K. Mohapatra, former BARC Director (Radiochemistry Division) Bhabha Atomic Research Centre inaugurated the workshop. The key role of radiation in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, food, energy, and sewerage treatment was discussed on the first day.

IANCAS Convener P.S. Ramanjaneyulu and other scientists spoke at the workshop.
