A 40-year-old farmer alleged that the Income Tax Department sent a notice to him seeking an explanation for ₹28 lakh deposited in his account recently.

Mr. Annadurai claimed that he did not have an account in the banks mentioned in the notice and he owned 3.5 acres and was doing farming. He had an account in the Indian Bank and in a cooperative bank and got jewel and crop loans. He also lodged a complaint with the Attur Sub Court in this regard.
