A total of 284 micro observers, including 47 reserves, will monitor the polling in all the 237 polling stations for the byelection to the Erode (East) Assembly constituency, scheduled for February 5.
District Election Officer and Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara in the presence of General Observer Ajay Kumar Gupta and Returning Officer and Corporation Commissioner H.S. Srikanth, carried out the first level randomisation for micro observers in the portal of the Election Commission of India on Thursday. They were drawn from LIC, railways, nationalised banks and other Central Government Departments. The micro observers are responsible for observing the overall election process in the stations on polling day.
