The Department of Posts is conducting ‘International Letter Writing Competition for Youth 2025’.
According to a press release, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) organises the letter writing competition every year for children, aged 9 to 15, and the theme for 2025 is ‘Imagine yourself as the ocean and why and how to take good care of yourself?’
The letter can be written in Tamil, English, Hindi or a language officially recognised by the government and should not exceed 800 words. Only handwritten letters will be accepted. The Best three letters will be selected at the Tamil Nadu. The Best letters will be sent to the national-level competition.
The best three entries at the State level will be awarded the first prize of ₹25,000, the second prize of ₹10,000, and the third prize of ₹5,000. The prizes for the best three entries at the national level will be ₹50,000, ₹25,000 and ₹10,000, respectively. The letter that wins the first prize at the national level will be sent to the international-level competition.
The writer of the letter winning the first prize at the international level will be taken to the Universal Postal Union Headquarters in Switzerland and honoured. The letters should be sent to the Chief Postmaster General, Tamil Nadu Circle, Chennai – 600 002, by March 20. For more details, the interested persons can contact the nearest post office.
