DVAC officials book VAO for demanding bribe for patta name change

Officials of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption caught an e-sevai centre operator red-handed while accepting bribe from a public on Friday. 

According to police, Bagavathi Mangalam Village Administrative Officer Parthiban, had allegedly demanded ₹37,000 as bribe for changing name in patta. 

The complainant unwilling to bribe the VAO, raised a complaint with DVAC officials.  

Following this, as per the instruction of VAO, the complainant handed over the bribe amount to an e-sevai centre owner at R.S. Mangalam. While accepting the bribe, DVAC officials caught the e-sevai centre owner.  

Learning about the arrest of e-sevai owner, the VAO absconded.  

DVAC officials booked case against the VAO and e-sevai owner. Search for VAO is underway.
