Drinking water supply to be suspended for two days in north Madurai

Drinking water distribution would be suspended for two days on February 12 and 13 in the Vaigai river northern side for the PWD engineers to complete works under way at Sellur-Kulamangalam Main Road junction.

According to a press release from Madurai Corporation, the PWD engineers are constructing a channel, which would take the surplus water from the Sellur tank.

For this purpose, the main pipelines are in Sellur junction. Hence, to complete the civil works, they had to suspend the water supply.

Hence, wards 10, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 and 21 to 25 would not get drinking water through pipelines for the above two dates. The press release appealed to the residents to conserve water in advance and utilise it judiciously.
