Accusing the BJP-led Union government of deliberately ignoring Tamil Nadu by not allocating funds for any of the ongoing and new projects in the State for the second successive year, CPI (M) cadre staged a demonstration here on Tuesday.
The protesters said the Central government had punished the people of Tamil Nadu for not backing the BJP in the elections, and the non-BJP-ruled States across the country had been ignored completely with nil earmarking of funds for any ongoing projects and new development schemes.
Terming the Budget “anti-poor and anti-farmer,” the protesters said it announced no incentive for uplifting the living conditions of the deprived section.
CPI (M)‘s Thoothukudi City District secretary M.S. Muthu presided over the agitation organised at Chidambara Nagar bus stop.
