Cong. govt. may halt Rythu Bharosa under guise of election code, fears Bandi

BJP Karimnagar MP and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has accused the Congress government of conspiring to halt the Rythu Bharosa scheme under the guise of the election code.

He demanded an immediate all-party meeting to ensure that Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Aatmeeya Bharosa, ration cards and housing allocations, continue without interruption despite MLC polls. If needed, State president and Union Minister of Coal & Mines G Kishan Reddy will formally approach the Election Commission in this regard, he said.

In a press release on Friday, Mr. Sanjay Kumar warned that if the schemes were halted using election code as an excuse, they would not remain silent. Since Rythu Bharosa is a continuing scheme, it should not face any objections from the EC. In case of any objection, he proposed an all-party delegation to EC to to seek approvals for depositing Rythu Bharosa funds into farmers’ accounts.

Declare financial emergency

Telangana BJP has urged Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to declare a financial emergency for the State and demanded the Congress Government to release a White Paper on finances in TG forthwith.

“After the previous BRS Government has pushed TG into a debt trap, the current government too, has been on a spree of taking fresh loans not for productive purposes but to indulge in wasteful expenditure by resorting to political appointments, wrong decisions and publicity putting further strain on an already empty treasury,” claimed party vice president and former MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar at a press conference.

The BJP leader charged the government with going for fresh loans to meet its expenditure and fanciful schemes and even resorting to ‘threatening’ bank officials of withdrawing fixed deposits if the funds are not sanctioned. A plan has also been hatched to transfer public lands into corporations for outright sale.

“No other State in the country is facing such a dire financial condition where the government is unable to pay salaries on time, but it is strange to note Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is talking about one trillion dollar economy,” he claimed.
