Chief Post Master General inaugurates new sub-post office at Kuppepadavu

Chief Post Master General of Karnataka Postal Circle S. Rajendra Kumar on Saturday, February 8, inaugurated the upgraded sub-post office at Kuppepadavu near here.

Speaking after opening the office at a new premises, Mr. Kumar said India Post has reached every household in the country by providing service to the vulnerable sections of society, including the elderly, the disabled, children, women, among others. Diversifying its functioning, the department was providing internet banking service through One Nation-One IFSC Code, he said.

Mangaluru Division Senior Superintendent of Post Offices M. Sudhakar explained the history of Kuppepadavu post office, which began functioning as a branch post office in 1947. Kuppepadavu Gram Panchayat president Vimala, Vice-President Mohammed Sharief, Deputy Superintendent of Post Offices P. Dinesh and others were present.

New pin code

With the upgradation of the post office, Kuppepadavu has got the new pin code, 574162, instead of 574144. Earlier the villae, along with Iruvail, Kolavoor etc., were under Ganjimutt post office distribution network. Henceforth, all areas served by Iruvail and Kolavor branch post offices would have 574162 as their pin code and be under the distribution network of Kuppepadavu sub-post office, a statement said.

General public, banks and other public institutions should note the change in pin code, India Post said.
