BBMP Chief Commissioner directs speedy completion of permanent shelters for pourakarmikas

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has instructed officials to expedite the construction of 42 permanent rest shelters for civic workers across the city.

During Mr. Giri Nath’s routine zonal visit in the East Zone, a resident highlighted the need for dedicated rest areas for civic workers. Responding to this, the commissioner assured that construction is underway and will be completed soon to benefit the workers. He directed the officials to ensure speedy completion of the permanent rest shelters.

In Jai Bharat Nagar, a ramp obstructing vehicle movement was removed. Officials were instructed to survey all roadside houses and clear any unauthorised ramps encroaching on roads or footpaths.

With increasing ward numbers, residents sought clearer boundaries. Officials were directed to mark them appropriately. Regarding unauthorised parking charges on Commercial Street and Brigade Road, authorities were ordered to take action until an official tender is finalised.
