Air India Express commenced a direct flight service between Mangaluru and Delhi. The initiative offers a direct daily morning service between the two cities.
The inaugural flight, IX 1552, departed Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) at 6.40 a.m. and landed at Delhi international airport at 9.35 a.m. on February 1.
The pairing flight, IX 2768, departed Delhi at 6.40 a.m. and landed in Mangaluru at 9.35 a.m.

The inaugural Mangaluru-Delhi flight had 167 passengers while the flight from the national capital had 144 passengers heading to the coastal city.
The Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit of Mangaluru International Airport presented a water cannon salute to the arriving inaugural flight, much to the delight of passengers and aviation geeks.

The launch of this new flight comes on the heels of Air India Express introducing two weekend flights, every Saturday, to Pune on January 4.
This new flight to Delhi will fortify Mangaluru International Airport’s emphasis on enabling business and leisure connectivity to passengers. With the introduction of this route, the airport has now facilitated a second daily option, to go with the current evening flight, for people to travel directly to Delhi. Travellers can look forward to more onward connectivity options, reduced travel time, and the promise of a hassle-free journey with this direct flying option.
