Agristack registration through special camps is currently underway in Krishnagiri. The registration entails creating a farmer registry under the Union Government to provide unique IDs for each farmer in the district’s 657 villages.
The State-specific scheme envisions ”seamless access to agricultural schemes”, according to the Union Government.
Inorder to increase the coverage of farmers to avail targeted schemes, a special camp is underway in all villages to create a farmers registry, according to the administration. The camps that commenced on February 9 will continue up to February 20.
There are over 1,70,000 registered farmers in the district under the PM-Kisan Samman Scheme which provides income support to farmers. The registry will include the land details of the farmers, which will include survey number details along with crop cultivation in the said survey number.
According to the administration, going forward, the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Scheme, or PM Crop Insurance Scheme will be provided only through Agristack.
Farmers, whose land details are uploaded through the registry will be given priority in the disbursement of schemes, according to the administration.
However, the eliciting of information including land details through special camps is based on the consent of the farmers, the administration said.
